        SF Center for the Books Arts
        The name says it all. Classes, exhibitions and work space available.
Flax Art Supplies
        Sometimes refered to as the art store for those wanting to be artists. A very large supply of handmade papers and a small array of bookbinding supplies.
Kozo Arts Japanese papers are the most beautiful and expensive there are. This store has a wonderful supply of paper and premade books. Their site is no longer active. I hope the store is.
Arch
        More of an architect's store, but they carry great handmade papers and their bookmaking supplies are better priced than some other stores. They have it all; awls, book tape, pva glue, kits, the whole thing.
Lineco
        The largest producer of quality bookbinding materials and tools. This is where you can buy binding board and glue, binding tape, you name it.
Charles Hobson
        I saw a display of his work at the Bank of America building and dropped him an email. He invited me to his open studio, showed me Keith Smith's book and I began making books. He actually paints large paintings, then incorporates them into books. A true artist.
