open mind. open eyes. when i walk around with my camera, i never know what i will see or shoot. invariably, i return to shooting things that everyone walks past without notice. i observe art no one else sees. art co-created by man and effected by nature. when i look at the prints (because I use film…) i see more than i did the first time.

i see what is already there and merely decide how to frame the art.

shot in the dark
night photography captures the world we do not see. the passage of time blurs motion; it captures the turning of the earth. stars streak across the sky, waves turn to foam. all restlessness is gone. there is only time; constant, repetitive, endless.

memories have soft edges.

we don’t remember events as clearly as we think. memories fade, become soft or blurry.

holga captures life as we remember it; soft edges, grainy, slightly out of focus.
